A combination of six fires have burned 138 acres off Calaveras and Felter roads about five miles northeast of Milpitas Saturday. The fires, collectively dubbed the Reservoir Fire are being treated as one and are 40% contained, according to Cal Fire officials.
The fire is not burning in a heavily populated area. No structure damage or injuries have been reported. Calavaras road will be closed until Sunday, officials said.
The initial two fires were reported at around noon. According to authorities, the fires are burning in the same area a brush fire was reported at the Calaveras Reservoir east of Milpitas Friday.
The cause of the fires is under investigation. Two of the six fires have merged, and officials have not said if arson is suspected.
