Brush Fire Prompts Evacuations in Moraga: Firefighters


A brush fire late Monday afternoon prompted evacuations in Moraga, firefighters said.

The multiple-alarm blaze off Moraga Road forced authorities to issue precautionary evacuations at the Buckingham neighborhood. The fire burned 40 acres and was contained about 7:30 p.m., the Moraga-Orinda Fire District said.

Fire crews were staying at the scene overnight to patrol for possible flare-ups, fire officials said.

No other information was immediately available.
