Townhomes damaged, more than 30 residents displaced after 4-alarm fire in San Jose

Several townhomes were damaged and more than 30 residents were displaced following a four-alarm fire in San Jose Friday night, officials said.

The incident happened in the 2100 block of Luz Avenue near Regional Medical Center.

According to the San Jose Fire Department, the fire was in five of the seven units in the complex. They added that more than 30 residents were displaced and a dog was killed in the fire.

SJFD said the fire was knocked down and the situation was under control.

No other injuries were reported.

The Red Cross is assisting with the displaced residents.

Crews will stay in the area overnight as they investigative the cause of the fire.
