Police searching for 4-year-old girl kidnapped by relative in San Francisco

The San Francisco Police Department Special Victims Unit (SVU) is seeking the public’s help in locating a kidnapped child and kidnapping suspect.

On Tuesday, officers responded to the 1100 block of Mission Street at approximately 1:30 a.m. regarding a report of a possible kidnapping.

Officers arrived on scene and met with the father of a 4-year-old girl named Fatima Abuzahra. The investigation determined that Abuzahra was allegedly taken from her home by a relative, Enas Birawi, without the father’s knowledge or consent.

The child and Birawi were last seen in the area of the 600 block of Eddy Street, police said. It is possible that Birawi is staying in a hotel in the area. Birawi was also accompanied by her 8-year-old biological son during the alleged kidnapping.

Abuzahra is 4 feet 2 inches tall, 50 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink pajama sweater and tan pants. Abuzahra is considered at-risk due to her very young age.

Birawi is a 30-year-old woman, 5 feet 1 inches tall, 200 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing a black jacket and gray pants and was carrying a burgundy suitcase. The 8-year-old son of Birawi was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt and black pants.

Anyone who locates Abuzahra and/or Birawi should call 911 and report the current location and physical descriptions. Anyone with information on their possible whereabouts should call the SFPD Tip Line at (415) 575-4444, the missing persons line at (415) 734-307,0 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD. Persons may remain anonymous.
