Police, hazmat teams respond to suspected fentanyl labs in Contra Costa County

Pittsburg police and hazmat teams were called to two homes Saturday night where they discovered what authorities said is believed to be fentanyl.

Fire crews responded to a home on Seward Drive off of Harbor Street and California Avenue, according to officials.

The hazmat team searched for about four hours, confiscating what they described as “big orange pills” from the home, authorities report.

Then, authorities said the hazmat team was called to a second home about a mile away on Jimno Avenue, not far from the Pittsburg Police Department and City Hall.

Crews searched a Cadillac parked there and found more orange pills along with equipment likely used to manufacture drugs, according to officials.

It is unknown if any arrests have been made in this case.
