Overnight sideshows reported in 3 Bay Area cities

Multiple sideshows were reported in several streets in three Bay Area cities overnight.

One of the sideshows happened at around 2 a.m. Sunday Lewis Brown and B.W. Williams drives in Vallejo. At one point, people set a Christmas tree on fire.

According to Oakland police, they responded to several sideshows in the city early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to one sideshow in the area of 55th and Bancroft avenues just before 1:30 a.m. OPD said that about 50 vehicles and 200 spectators were participating in the illegal sideshow. They added when officers began to break up the sideshow, the vehicles fled the area and they were able to locate evidence of a shooting. But officers did not locate any victims injured by gunfire, nor any property struck, police said.

At around 2 a.m., OPD responded to another sideshow in the area of 35th Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.

Just before 2:45 a.m., Oakland police officers responded to a third sideshow in the area of West Grand Avenue and Maritime Street. OPD said that about 50 vehicles participated in the sideshow and also there were reports of gunfire that caused many people to flee the scene in multiple directions. OPD added that their officers did not find any victims injured by gunfire, nor any property struck.

Oakland police said they investigating the three incidents in the city and are asking anyone with information to call (510) 238-3728.

In San Francisco, police said they responded to reports of a sideshow in the area of 13th Street and South Van Ness Avenue just after 3 p.m.

According to SFPD, they officers saw vehicles “engaged in stunt driving and spectators near the intersection.” Police added when additional officers arrived on scene, the vehicles and spectators began fleeing from the area.

SFPD said that no arrests were made from the incident at this time. They are anyone with information to contact them at 415-575-4444.
