Man killed in Lancaster shooting

A man was shot to death Sunday morning in Lancaster, authorities said.

The shooting was reported at 12:07 a.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of East Avenue J-4, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies dispatched to the scene located a man in a parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

“Investigators learned the victim was involved in an altercation when a suspect produced a firearm and shot the victim. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle eastbound through the complex,” according to the sheriff’s department.

No further information was immediately available.
