LAPD pares down cost to train and equip officers for protests

The Los Angeles Police Department has proposed spending about $18.5 million on reforms to better prepare for mass protests, according to an outline of the plan. That is about a quarter of the nearly $67 million the LAPD previously estimated it would need.
