Incoming Storm Expected to Impact Friday Evening Commute

After frigid overnight temperatures Thursday night into Friday morning, storms are expected to soak the Bay Area’s Friday afternoon commute and linger well into next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Along with the weak to moderate rain Sunday is forecast another cold system that could bring snow to fairly low elevations Sunday night, the weather service said.

Long-range trends suggest more rain and storms next week, which may trigger small mudslides. Reservoirs, rivers and streams may begin to reach capacity as soils become saturated, the weather service said.

Next week’s rains, which are expected to come from weak to moderate weather systems, are expected to be more robust the farther south you go.
