Flooding at Embarcadero Station Causes Issues for Muni, BART

Flooding at the Embarcadero station in San Francisco triggered issues for both BART and Muni Thursday morning, according to the transit agencies.

The “drainage issue” has primarily impacted Muni, which still has its trains bypassing the station. BART service was temporarily impacted, but normal service has resumed and trains are once again stopping at the station.

Muni was testing its deluge system when the drainage system failed, causing water to pour out onto the platform, according to a Muni spokesperson. Water could also be seen spilling onto BART’s platform and tracks.

Muni won’t resume service at the station until they are able to fix the drainage system.

Further information was not immediately available.
