A fatal crash on southbound Interstate 680 in Concord snarled the Thursday morning commute.
The cause of the crash was under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
All southbound lanes north of Treat Boulevard initially were blocked, prompting a Sig-alert, but all lanes reopened later in the morning.
No further details were immediately available.
