Forward progress of the Vista Grande Fire in Fairfield on Monday has been stopped and evacuation orders were lifted, according to Cal Fire.
Crews have contained more than half of the fire that started Monday afternoon, Cal Fire officials said.
The Vista Grande Fire started at about 4:05 p.m. Monday near Vista Grande and Capitola Way. Around 9:10 p.m., Cal Fire officials said 75 percent of the blaze was contained.
The Fairfield Police and Fire departments ordered evacuations for residents and occupants of businesses in the areas of Palmer Circle, Bear Creek Drive and Sky View Circle before rescinding them at 6:20 p.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

“All evacuations have been lifted, everyone may return to your residences,” police said in an alert sent out to residents.
Cal Fire as well as fire departments from Vallejo and Fairfield were fighting the blaze.
