A driver has died after a tire that came loose from a truck hit their windshield on the 60 Freeway in Pomona early Monday.
The incidents happened at around 2:30 a.m. on the eastbound 60 Freeway near Garvey Avenue.
Video footage showed the windshield on the driver side window of a white Lexus shattered.
According to witnesses, a blue pickup truck was heading in the opposite direction when its tire came off, went over the median and hit the driver of the white Lexus that was driving eastbound.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The fatal incident prompted a Sigalert, affecting traffic in the area.
