Crews Respond to Rock Fire Burning in Mendocino County

Crews responded late Thursday to a brush fire in Mendocino County likely caused by lightning strikes, according to county sheriff’s office.

The blaze, dubbed the Rock Fire, was burning south of Hopland, according to Mendocino County sheriff’s officials.

Sheriff officials tweeted Thursday night that fire crews and law enforcement personnel were in the area assessing the situation. They asked the public to avoid the area.
