Investigators are working to learn more details on a deadly early-morning shooting Friday involving an off-duty sheriff’s deputy in Tustin.

Police responded around 5:22 a.m. to a residence in the 13000 block of Tustin East Drive.

At the home, officers located a woman injured with gunshot wounds, according to the Tustin Police Department. The woman was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

The deceased woman was identified as 45-year-old Brittany Shaw, according to Orange County Supervisor Don Wagner.

Details on what led up to the shooting were not immediately available.

The deputy was placed on paid administrative leave following the shooting, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
