The southbound lanes of Interstate 280 in San Jose remain closed late Saturday evening as the California Highway Patrol continues investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash.
The fatal collision occurred at about 9:40 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 280 near Interstate 880.
A CHP spokesperson said they are investigating initial reports that the vehicle flipped off of state Highway 17 and landed onto the lanes of Interstate 280.
The southbound lanes of Interstate 280 are completely blocked and shut down as is the connecting ramp from Highway 17 to Interstate 280 and the ramp connecting Interstates 280 to 880.
