
Two home break-ins were reported in Northridge just about 30 minutes apart Tuesday night.
The first break-in was reported on the 9000 block of Vanalden Avenue at approximately 9:47 p.m.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a family was home at the time when at least one person broke in through a sliding glass door.
By the time officers arrived, the suspect was gone. It was unknown if anything was taken from the home.
Police later responded to another call of a burglary on the 17600 block of Murphy Lane at approximately 10:20 p.m.
The woman who made the call described the suspect as a man wearing a black mask and gray hooded sweatshirt.
According to police, a woman and a child were home at the time. When the man saw someone was home, he took off.
It was not clear if anything was taken from the home. Police did find a broken window near the back of the home.
No arrests have been made.
