Alum Rock Union trustee who voted against firing superintendent speaks out

Caltrans on Friday broke ground on a new state-of-the-art weigh station on Interstate 80 at Cordelia set to be completed by 2029.

The Cordelia weigh station is a notorious slowdown spot, particularly during the day when big-rigs back up onto freeway lanes while waiting to enter the scales.

The antiquated facility was built back in the 1950s, and its design can only process a few trucks at a time.
