Two people were arrested, one of them an arson suspect, following a theft at a drug store in Fairfield on Thursday, according to police.
The police department said officers were dispatched to the drug store on Travis Boulevard for a theft. The two suspects had been seen leaving in an RV, according to officials.
Authorities report one of suspects, 25-year-old Jason Bonifacio, was also wanted for arson. Bonifacio barricaded himself inside the RV and refused to get out after multiple commands were given, police said.
The police department informed detectives from the Special Operations Team arrived and made a “tactical plan” to breach the RV’s door and window. They then used K-9 Nitro to search for the suspect.
After the window was breached, Bonifacio surrendered and was taken into custody, according to the police department. Authorities report that the second suspect was also apprehended.
