2.8 magnitude earthquake shakes in South Bay

A preliminary 2.8 magnitude earthquake struck early Friday morning near San Jose, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake, centered about 10 miles east of San Jose, hit at 12:16 a.m., the USGS said.
