17-year-old arrested in deadly hit-and-run crash in Sonoma County

A 17-year-old was identified as the suspect in a deadly hit-and-run crash in Rohnert Park, according to authorities on Sunday.

The City of Rohnert Park Police and Fire said the 17-year-old was arrested Saturday in Petaluma after detectives identified him as the driver involved in the deadly hit-and-run crash.

According to officials, the crash happened at the intersection of Snyder Lane and Capri Way at around 6:35 p.m. Friday. Authorities reported they arrived at the scene and found a pedestrian who was pronounced dead at the scene.

After locating the suspect, the City of Rohnert Park Police and Fire said he was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Juvenile Detention Facility on suspicion of manslaughter
and failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in death.
