A family from Utah is searching for a woman last seen 10 days ago in Santa Cruz County.
Danielle Staley, 35, also known as “Starr,” was traveling in a white camper van with a male companion.
Her stepfather, Slade Holtry, and sister were in the Río del Mar area of Aptos Sunday, where Staley was last seen at a beach bonfire.
They say the community and local police have been incredibly supportive and helpful in the search.
They also describe Staley as troubled, but with a heart of gold.
“Danielle has problems. Trying to get through that for years. She has nothing to her name. But anybody who is struggling, she just wants to help them. That’s her focus in life,” Holtry said.
The man Staley was traveling with is not a suspect at this time.
Though the sheriff’s office believes foul play might be involved in her disappearance.
A Facebook page called “Help Find Danielle Staley” has been created to help during the search.
