Is the San Francisco district attorney living up to her pledges from day one in office?
Three years ago Monday, Brooke Jenkins was appointed as the city’s top prosecutor.
Then-Mayor London Breed selected her to replace Chesa Boudin after a recall. Boudin was Jenkins’ former boss, until she resigned, then supported that recall effort.
A few months later, voters selected her to continue serving as district attorney.
She said at the time she believed that repeat offenders, and dangerous criminals, were being released too soon.
Day one of the job — she promised to be tough on crime – while also working to reform the justice system.
NBC Bay Area’s Gia Vang spoke with Jenkins Monday, as she reflected on her pledges and her goals for the future. Watch full interview in video player above.
