Some Bay Area 4th of July fireworks shows cancelled due to Yolo County explosion

At least two fireworks shows in the Bay Area have been cancelled since a raging fire at a fireworks facility in Northern California caused a massive explosion and injured two people Tuesday evening.

Show organizers said the supplies needed were stored at the Yolo County building. Now, many are left searching for a Plan B.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of that terrible tragedy,” said San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan. “The fireworks we were going to have here were, in fact, at that location.”

As of now, shows at Lake Cunningham in San Jose and the Cloverdale Lions Club were cancelled.

The planned party at Lake Cunningham will still take place, per city officials.
