San Jose Mineta International Airport’s Terminal B was evacuated Friday night after a false alarm, officials said.
According to officials with the airport, they had a false alarm when a fire alarm went off in Terminal B. The alarm prompted the area to be evacuated, officials said.
Authorities add TSA will rescreen the passengers.
Lynn Lunsford, a Southwest Airlines spokesperson, sent the following statement, “The airport is working through the process of reopening now. The remaining departures for the evening should be delayed until after the terminal re-opens, and arrivals are being held off the gates until things are back up and running. We plan to accommodate as many Customers as possible tonight. Please contact the airport and TSA for details about the alarm and subsequent efforts to repopulate the terminal.”
