Quail Fire: Crews Make Progress on Brush Fire in Vacaville

Firefighters are making progress in battling the Quail Fire in Solano County early Saturday evening, fighting a blaze that began Saturday afternoon in hilly terrain west of Winters and northwest of Vacaville.

A Cal Fire spokesperson said the fire, which began at 3:14 p.m., has now scorched 135 acres. However, firefighters have brought the containment from zero percent to 45% in the last 90 minutes.
The fire began in the area of Quail Canyon Road and Pleasants Valley Road, just south of state Highway 128 and west of Interstate 505.

According to the Solano County Office of Emergency Services, an evacuation order was issued for all residents on Quail Canyon Road, Pleasants Valley Road from Shale Peak to Highway 128, including all roads east of Pleasants Valley Road to the Blue Ridge County line.

Officials are asking drivers to avoid the area at this time.

The Napa County Office of Emergency Services, issued a statement early Saturday evening related to the Quail Fire , said there are no evacuations or fires in Napa County.

Napa County OES officials said smoke may be visible in eastern Napa County, but no threats from the Quail Fire have been identified and no evacuations have been ordered in Napa County.

No other details have been released at this time.
