An early morning shooting in San Francisco left one person dead, another in the hospital and a third person behind bars Sunday, according to the police department.
Authorities said officers responded to a shooting on the 3000 block of 16th Street at approximately 12:30 a.m.
Responding officers were advised that two people were on the ground following an altercation, according to police.
Upon arrival, officers located two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, officials report. The police department said the victims were taken to the hospital, where one of them was pronounced dead.
While on the scene, police said officers located and seized a firearm.
Through the course of the investigation, the police department reported officers were advised that a possible suspect was found near Visitacion Valley. Officers then responded to the area and took the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Larry Hudgson Jr. of San Francisco, into custody, according to authorities.
Officials said Hudgson was booked into the San Francisco County Jail on suspicion of murder.
