A pedestrian died Thursday after they were struck by a vehicle in downtown Oakland, police said.
The collision happened just after 8:45 a.m. in the area of Eighth Street and Broadway, according to police.
The pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital but did not survive, police said.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to police.
It wasn’t immediately known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. An investigation is ongoing.
