Newsom signs bills to close Inglewood Oil Field and increase fines on idle wells

Gov. Gavin Newsom escalated his conflict with the fossil fuel industry by signing bills Wednesday that will shut down the sprawling Inglewood Oil Field by 2030 and hike the fees that companies must pay to cover the cost of cleaning up 40,000 idle wells across the state.
