A preliminary 2.6 magnitude earthquake struck Tuesday morning near Gilroy, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake, centered about 3.6 miles southwest of Gilroy, hit at 5:25 a.m., the USGS said.
No other information was immediately available. Updates to come.
