A preliminary 2.5 magnitude earthquake struck Thursday morning in the East Bay, centered near Berkeley, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The temblor was recorded at 3:55 a.m. and centered about 2 miles east-southeast of Berkeley, the USGS said.
