Two women were killed and a third woman was injured after being shot in their South Gate home by the ex-husband of one of the victims, law enforcement sources tell NBC4 Investigates.

The shooting was reported just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday along San Luis Avenue in South Gate, LASD said. Police received an emergency call of a man shooting a firearm inside the residence.

When officers arrived, they encountered the armed man exiting the front door, who then fired at officers, police said. Officers reported hearing additional gunshots inside the home.

The gunman, described as a man in his 50s, shot three women, including a grandmother who was later transported to a hospital in stable condition, before turning the gun on himself, police tell NBC4 Investigates.
