This summer, Big Bear Lake may be the ideal place to visit for those looking for activities that combine water, obstacles and a twist of “Wipeout” the TV show.
A new floating water park has opened up for the summertime at Pine Knot Marina featuring slides, pylons for jumping off, skips and challenging obstacles.
Big Bear Watersports School, the company that operates the waterpark, said it’s an exciting, entertaining way to get wet in Big Bear.
“It’s like a miniature version of the TV show ‘Wipeout,’ but on a milder scale that gives all ages plenty of opportunities to have tons of fun,” Brian Boyd, the owner of Big Bear Watersports School said. “We tell our guests, ‘You will get wet, you will swim, you will have fun,’ and sure enough, they do.”
Some of the features include a 12-foot-high platform called Mt. Hood, which allows participants to plunge feet first into the lake.
The waterpark will be opened daily but divided into separate sessions at the top of each hour with the first session beginning at 11 a.m. and the last session at 3 p.m.
Participants must pay $19.95 per session with the option of booking in advance or by walk-in. They are also required to wear a life jacket.
The water park will remain open through Sep. 1.
