Deputies rescue dog, pups from ‘disturbing conditions' in San Jose

Santa Clara County deputies last month rescued a mother dog and her pups from “disturbing conditions” in an area of East San Jose, the sheriff’s office said Sunday.

Deputies assisted code enforcement in July at a property on Quimby Road in an unincorporated area of San Jose, removing a dog and her puppies who were in need of food and water, the sheriff’s ofice said.

The dogs were sent to a foster home until they can be adopted, and county Animal Services is conducting a criminal investigation, the sheriff’s office said.

Anyone who suspects animal cruelty or neglect can contact Santa Clara County Animal Services at 408-201-0660 or on its official website.
