Firefighters on Tuesday gained a little more ground on the Pickett Fire burning in Napa County.
The blaze held overnight at just over 6,800 acres and was 17% contained, according to Cal Fire.
Evacuation orders and warnings were still in effect.
About 2,700 firefighters from across the state are manning the front lines.
