A bicyclist was pronounced dead after being hit by a vehicle in Berkeley Saturday afternoon, the police department said.
According to authorities, the crash happened around the area of Telegraph Avenue and Haste Street just before 3 p.m.
Police said the bicyclist, a man in his 60s, was riding southbound on Telegraph Avenue when they were struck by a vehicle.
The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to authorities.
Officials report the driver involved in the collision stayed at the scene.
Police said the the area of Telegraph Avenue between Haste Street and Dwight Way, and Haste Street between Bowditch Avenue and Dana Street, will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic as the investigation continues.
