Potential homebuyers, keep an eye out. Artificial intelligence-enhanced photos are being used to help some homes stand out.
Most real estate agents say it’s one thing to take a glamour photo of a house with a wide lens, a drone, or a nice filter, but some photos cross the line.
Real estate agent Linsey Gridley said she sees AI-enhanced photos all the time. She takes pains to caution potential clients about what’s real and what’s been changed.
“If it’s my listing, absolutely, I’m gonna want those labeled because I don’t want to misrepresent something and have someone show up and be disappointed that what they saw online differs from what they see in person,” she said.
California has passed a law that, come Jan. 1, will require anything that’s been digitally altered and put online to be labeled as such and shown side-by-side with the actual, original photo.
