4 big rigs involved in deadly crash in Ontario

Multiple people were killed Tuesday following a crash involving four big rigs in Ontario.

The crash was reported on the westbound 10 Freeway near the 15 Freeway at about 1:15 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. While the cause of the crash remains under investigation, CHP said it’s believed a semi-truck was braking and couldn’t stop in time, causing it to hit another big rig.

Footage from NewsChopper4 showed four big rigs, a pickup truck and other vehicles stopped on the freeway. The vehicles that were not semi-trucks sustained heavy damage.

Police did not say how many people were killed in the incident. The identities of the deceased were not released.

As a result of the crash, all westbound lanes of the crash have been shut down. It’s unclear when they will reopen.
