2-alarm fire in San Francisco burns multiple homes, injures 1

San Francisco firefighters were battling a two-alarm structure fire engulfing three homes in the city’s Sunset District, fire officials said Wednesday morning.

The blaze, reported in the 1300 block of 47th Avenue around 6:30 a.m., prompted a large-scale response from the San Francisco Fire Department. Crews arrived to reportedly find three adjacent homes actively burning, with heavy smoke and flames visible.

Three adults were rescued from the homes. One of the victims initially was in critical condition but was later stabilized, according to the department.

Firefighters also saved a pet from the burning structures. The animal was being cared for by paramedics on scene.

Authorities have urged the public to avoid the area as firefighters continue to work to contain the fire and prevent further spread. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
