A man is dead following a hit-and-run in Petaluma, the California Highway Patrol said Saturday.
CHP Santa Rosa said they responded to Rainsville Road near Stony Point Road at around 9:30 a.m. after a bicyclist was found unresponsive.
Officials informed the bicyclist, a man, was confirmed deceased. Early indications show the crash likely happened overnight or early Saturday morning, and the vehicle involved left the scene, according to CHP.
Authorities add the suspect vehicle is unknown at this time.
