
One of the fastest growing sports in the world is coming to the South Bay. It’s called padel, and a new venue is planned at Google’s Downtown West development in San Jose.
The padel center is one of the early businesses showing up inside the footprint of the so-called Google village near Diridon Station.
Padel is a racket sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. It’s played on an enclosed court about a third the size of a tennis court, with walls that are part of the field of play.
