Suspect Identified in Fatal Crash Into Outdoor Dining Area in San Jose

A driver in San Jose crashed into an outdoor dining area Friday night, leaving one dead and two injured, police said.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified by the San Jose Police Department as Alex Moreno.

Police responded to the incident at Agave Sports Bar at around 9 p.m. where three people, two men and one woman, were injured. The woman was pronounced dead at the hospital and the two men suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Moreno, 32, was believed to be impaired at the time of the crash. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

This is San Jose’s 24th fatal collision.
