Students oppose UC tuition hikes. Leaders say campuses need money in the Trump era

The University of California board of regents will vote on whether to increase overall tuition and renew program that keeps tuition costs the each for each new enrolling class. Student leaders strongly oppose move. UC officials say they have few options for covering increasing campus costs — and financial aid — amid inflation and unstable state and federal funding.
