Stolen vehicle pursuit ends at apartment complex in Woodland Hills

Officers were chasing a stolen vehicle driver in the San Fernando Valley Thursday evening.

NewsChopper4 was over the pursuit around 5:15 p.m. as multiple LAPD squad cars trailed the vehicle in the Lake Balboa area.

The driver reached speeds of over 80 mph on surface streets, often swerving in and out of lanes in opposite directions. The reckless driving continued in Reseda, with the driver nearly hitting a pedestrian in a residential neighborhood.

LAPD units pulled off the chase due to the dangerous speeds and monitored with their airship as the driver made their way onto the westbound 101 Freeway.

The driver got off on De Soto Avenue and pulled into a parking structure at an apartment complex in Woodland Hills, where they abandoned the vehicle.

It’s unclear if any arrests were made.
