San Francisco organizations protest President Trump's travel ban

Protests against immigration enforcement and President Donald Trump’s travel ban are expected to take place in the Bay Area Monday.

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside San Jose City Hall to protest the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policies and other issues.

Attendees emphasized being peaceful but loud.

Bay Area labor leaders rally in support of David Huerta

A coalition of Bay Area labor groups rallied in San Francisco for David Huerta, a union leader who was arrested Friday during an anti-ICE protest in Los Angeles.

The demonstrators in San Francisco said Huerta is one of several people unfairly detained in ICE raids.

Muni and Waymo services impacted by San Francisco protests

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency said Muni at 5 p.m. will start reroutes on the 14, 14R, 22, 27, 33, 48, 49, 55 and 67. Follow SFMTA on X for the latest service updates.

Waymo also announced limited service of driverless cars in parts of the city “per guidance from law enforcement,” NBC Bay Area Senior Investigative Reporter Bigad Shaban reports.

Waymo cars were set on fire in Los Angeles amid anti-ICE immigration protests.

San Francisco travel ban protest

San Francisco organizations gathered at City Hall Monday, pushing back President Trump’s travel ban, calling it illegal and discriminatory. 

President Trump’s new order bans most travelers from a dozen, mostly Muslim countries, into the U.S. and adds heightened scrutiny on travelers from seven other countries.
