PCH to see weekly road, lane closures

Drivers who plan to use the Pacific Coast Highway this week may want to consider alternate routes while construction is likely to cause road and lane closures.

This week, reduced speed limits and single-lane closures will be enforced from Sunset Boulevard in the Pacific Palisades to Carbon Beach Terrace in Malibu, according to Caltrans.

From Temescal Canyon Road to Sunset Boulevard, the speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph, and from Sunset Boulevard to Carbon Beach Terrace, a 25 mph speed limit will be enforced. The stretch of the PCH from McClure Tunnel to Temescal Canyon Road will have no restrictions and return to its normal 45 mph speed limit.

Caltrans also said that the stretch of Topanga Canyon Boulevard from the PCH to Grand View Drive will be closed to drivers from midnight to 5 a.m. daily. During the rest of the day, the road will be under one-way traffic control with a pilot car.

Additional single-lane closures may occur on the PCH any time between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Caltrans said. There are also additional potential lane closures that may occur throughout the week.
