A mother was accused of stabbing and killing her daughter after a fight in Martinez Tuesday, the police department said.
Police said they received a report of two women fighting at an apartment complex on Fig Tree Lane. Authorities add officers were also told that someone was stabbed.
Authorities said officers arrived at around 1:45 p.m. and found a woman lying in the parking lot, unconscious. Police said the woman, 19-year-old Shaniyah Monae Kazee, was provided with medical care and then taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The suspect, 36-year-old Brittney Evanna Kazee, was found in the area and detained by officers, the police department said.
Authorities add Brittney is the mother of the victim. She was arrested and cooked at the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of murder, officials report.
