A magnitude-4.4 earthquake was reported early Monday morning south of Santa Catalina Island in the Pacific Ocean.
Shaking was reported at about 2:44 a.m. in Los Angeles, Redondo Beach, Paramount and other nearby communities.
The quake was centered about 60 miles miles south of Avalon and about 13 miles deep.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
