A police officer was killed and another was injured in a shooting Saturday in Baldwin Park, authorities announced in a press conference.

The shooting was reported in the 4200 block of Filhurst Avenue around 7:15 p.m., according to CHP.

Baldwin Park police officers were responding to a call of shots fired in the area. The police shooting involved two officers and the suspect, according to LA Sheriff’s Deputy Kerner.

Neighbors in the area say they heard several shots.

All three parties involved were transported to a hospital, where one of the officers died.

The second officer was in stable condition, according to Baldwin Park Police Department Chief Robert López.

The two officers were not identified.

Newschopper4 was over the neighborhood and showed a massive police presence in a residential neighborhood. Streets were closed off for multiple blocks.
