Flights between Hawaii and San Francisco resumed Wednesday morning after multiple cancellations due to the tsunami warning on the island state.
At least one flight out of SFO had to turn around Tuesday night, a United Airlines jet that took off just after 7 p.m. bound for Honolulu. One passenger told NBC Bay Area they were about three hours into the flight when it was ordered to return to SFO, where it spent nearly an hour circling the airport before it could land.
Normal operations resumed Wednesday morning, and it was unclear if there would be any residual delays.
